Asking God’s grace upon people, places, and things
From the very beginning, the Church has called down God’s blessing upon her children and upon the world He made. To bless is to ask the Lord to sanctify a person, or to set some object apart for holy use — a sign that every good gift comes from Him and is meant to lead us back to Him.
Fr. Timothy is glad to offer blessings for a wide variety of needs, among them: the blessing of homes (especially during the Christmas and Epiphany season); the blessing of religious articles such as rosaries, crucifixes, medals, icons, and statues; the blessing of vehicles and other objects; blessings for expectant mothers and for the sick; and personal blessings for anyone seeking God’s grace at a particular moment in life.
To arrange a house blessing, or to have religious articles or other objects blessed, simply contact the parish office or speak with Fr. Timothy after Mass. Once blessed, religious articles become sacramentals: they are treated with reverence and, when worn out, are respectfully burned or buried rather than discarded.
